How Plantology compares plant apps

This page explains the scope, evidence boundaries, ownership disclosure, and update practice behind the Plant Care Lab comparison guides.

What we compare

We compare user jobs rather than chase a universal winner: reminders, care history, photo identification, troubleshooting context, learning, privacy, platform support, and plan boundaries.

How we describe evidence

We use publicly documented product scope, visible workflow descriptions, and Plantology product knowledge. When a detail can change by plan, region, or release, we tell readers to verify it before subscribing.

What we do not claim

These pages do not claim controlled device testing, statistically valid accuracy benchmarks, independent star ratings, or a universal ranking. We do not present invented review counts, performance scores, or app-store data.

Ownership disclosure

Plantology owns the Plantology app and publishes the comparison content. That relationship is material, so the guide says it directly. Readers should treat the Plantology row as a transparent product perspective, compare the trade-offs, and verify current alternatives for themselves.

Update practice

We revisit the comparison when a product changes its core workflow, platform support, pricing model, privacy terms, or the way it presents identification and care guidance. The page date shows when this editorial pass was completed; it is not a promise that every third-party detail remains unchanged.

Plant reference methodology

These are general editorial references for care, observation, and safety context. They are stored centrally and are not presented as species-specific citations on every plant page. A plant page only lists a source when its record carries an explicit page-specific scope.
