Watering decision support

When should I check the soil?

Use this as a starting interval for inspecting moisture. The app's calculator inputs inspired the model, but this web tool reports a bounded range and a next observation instead of an exact volume or automatic schedule.

Tell us about the setup

Choosing a catalog plant adds its watering and water-form context.

Your starting range

How it works

The calculator starts with the selected plant's catalog watering band, then shifts both ends of the inspection window for pot diameter, plant height, season, usable light, and mix behavior. Larger plants, summer or direct light, and faster-draining mixes move the check earlier; larger pots, winter or low light, and moisture-holding mixes move it later. The output stays a bounded observation interval.

How to interpret the output

Check moisture at the beginning of the range and decide from the root-zone evidence. Water deeply only when the plant's normal dry point is reached; do not follow the number when the pot is still heavy or roots are stressed.

Limitations

This is not an exact biological schedule, volume recommendation, sensor reading, or disease diagnosis. Climate, pot material, airflow, root condition, and the specific mix can move the dry-down time.
